ABOuT THE AUTHOR

After five years of homelessness, Matthew Hollis Damon self-published a hilarious, heartbreaking memoir and then wrote some more. His latest, Destiny Nowhere, is his fifth book and official literary debut. Drawing from the grit of his life on the streets, a fertile imagination and the nerd-dom of his youth, Destiny Nowhere is as good as zombie apocalypse lit gets, pushing the boundaries of genre, decency and what it means to be human in a capitalist consumer culture. Available now on amazon.com. Read his full bio here.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Destiny Nowhere tells the story of Sam Bland, a wimpy, mentally disturbed psychology professor who survives the zombie apocalypse solely because he never leaves his house except for work and Warhammer 40K nights at the mall hobby shop.

The plague spreads while Sam sits at home assuming all the zombie babble on Facebook is just hype for the next Walking Dead season—except it's not. Now the colleagues, students and small-minded townsfolk who made his life miserable are trying to eat him. At least he doesn’t have to talk to them. He can just kill them.

As civilization collapses, Sam discovers balls he never knew he had. A true battle for survival, Sam traverses the rotting landscape whacking zombies, fighting for his place in a brutal new social order, and plotting to free his crush, Charisse, from the clutches of a sociopathic yuppie warlord.
